Mother’s Day gift guide

Mother’s Day is just over a week away. I did a pretty traditional gift guide for Parade magazine. You can check out the offerings I included here.

My favorite pick of the bunch is this necklace from Viv & Ingrid. Something to think about for the future, Scott! But honestly, what mom wouldn’t love a heartfelt sentiment she can wear? I dedicated an entire post to sentimental jewelry in as part of my Best Gifts series in December. Stackable birthstone rings look delicate on any hand. We started a collection of stackable birthstone rings (we went the eternity band route) for my mom as a thank you for our wedding. The plan is to get her another birthstone ring after Baby G arrives.

Stackable birthstone ringsI love the modern simplicity of the set from Jennie Kwon Designs

For Mother’s Day this year, I’m giving Mom a customized photo album from our wedding (I’m only about a year and a half late on this). And sorry for spoiling the surprise, Mom! I want to include some of her favorites from the 1,200+ photos the very talented Brett & Emily took. And while I could have had them make the album, this is something I want to make Mom. But I had no idea where to start until I came across Photo Book Girl, my new online bestie. You can read her very thorough reviews of more than 20 online DIY photobook companies, then read the reviews/experiences/nightmares (yikes!) from non tech-savvy folks before making a decision. I still don’t know which company I’m choosing because I fist need to unpack the wedding DVD with all the photos on it.

You can make Mom a photobook even if you’re not married or your wedding happenend light years ago. Make Mom a book of her happiest memories or a favorite family vacation.
